St. Thomas Chapter of the Knights of Columbus –(Fortville) donates for the Safe Haven Baby Box.
It is always an honor to share information about Vernon Township services and our efforts to impact the greater good. Last night I had the pleasure of addressing the St. Thomas Chapter of the Knights of Columbus –(Fortville) knowing that they are committed to making our community a better place but with no real expectations for the evening.
It was a very special moment when the Knights of Columbus presented me with the generous gift of a check for $1,500 plus the commitment of $200 per month in maintenance fees for the Safe Haven Baby Box at the new Fortville Fire Station.
We are working hard to stay within budget and the cost of the Safe Haven Baby Box has been a concern.
The contribution comes at an important juncture. We hope the Knights of Columbus will join us when the Township unveils the Safe Haven Baby Box and officially puts it in service later this year.
The new station move in will happen this summer along with the training of our new paid part time firefighters. In the Fall, we will have the grand opening with public tours and we will quickly follow this with the unveiling of the Safe Haven Baby Box.
A big thank you to Sir Tim Brown, Grand Knight and the St Thomas Chapter of the Knights of Columbus!
